We're still collecting toys! We'd love to provide toys for the Adams County Foster Care Christmas Party. We've partnered with Adam's County in providing toys for foster families for 15 years!
We already have a very large donation of Beanie Babies to give us a head start. Because of this donation we do not need any more stuffed animals, but you can bring new toys to the coffee house until December 3rd.
Festival of Lights Outreach
Every year around this time Brighton has a "Festival of Lights" parade. We're taking advantage of our location this Christmas season to go out and talk to people about Jesus!
We'll open up the Bridge to the public to serve them hot chocolate and let people use the restroom. We'll hand out tracts and share the gospel with people. If you have a gift of evangelism and like talking to people about your faith sign up! If you like serving and being hospitable sign up! It will be on Saturday, December 9 at 4pm.

A member of our church, Lanny Cook, is making his book The Mystery of Zion, available to us. This is a great resource for those looking for a biblical perspective regarding Israel and the Middle East especially during these trying times as Israel is at war with Hamas. Christmas falls on a Sunday this year. We will be having morning services during our usual times of 8:30am and 10:30am. No evening services.
We'll be having a Christmas Choir this Christmas Eve during both services, 8:30am and 10:30am. Click the button below or talk to our worship pastor Ed Mascarenas to sign up! Any questions contact Ed: 720-980-7337
This Christmas Eve we'll be having a children's choir sing a song at the beginning of both services! The children will rehearse "Happy Birthday Jesus" in their Sunday School classes starting December 3rd.
They will then be welcome up front during whichever Christmas Eve service they attend to sing and sign the song.

Our children's ministry is growing! With this blessing comes a need for more kids church volunteers. Here's what we need:
- Pre-K teacher 1st and 2nd service
- Check-in person 2nd service
- Buddies for our special needs ministry for both services
- Teachers for 4th and 5th grade classrooms

What does Jesus want for Christmas?

About 3 years ago I first heard Anne Graham Lotz ask this question. It really challenged me to think about giving to Jesus.
Every November I start planning and making lists for Christmas presents I plan on giving. I thought that I had Jesus covered. I had participated in the "adopt a camper" program that we were launching to help fundraise for Eaglelake summer camp. So I thought that was my Christmas gift to Jesus. Then it hit me, while doing the "adopt a camper program" was good, was it that what Jesus really wanted me to give Him for Christmas? I might have wanted Him to have this present, but is that what He wanted? I then stepped out into an uncomfortable area and prayed, asking Jesus what He wanted me to give Him for Christmas.
The answer was not what I was expecting or hoping. Personally, I can always tell when I am being led by the Holy Spirit is when it doesn’t sound like something I would have come up with on my own. I felt like Jesus put on my heart that He wanted me to take a widow out for lunch. They were not my first choice of someone to get together with for lunch. It was the gift of time and money. I don’t have a lot of either. It required me to spend my allowance on them and not me. It required me to save for several weeks to have the funds to pay for lunch. To be honest, it was uncomfortable stepping out and setting the lunch date. But it was rewarding in knowing that it was exactly what Jesus wanted for Christmas. I was pleasantly surprised because it was so well received by this lonely widow, I enjoyed the time we spent together and was blessed in the process of being stretched.
The next year I forgot about asking Jesus what He wanted for Christmas until January! Not to worry, Jesus was faithful to let me know what He wanted. This time He asked me to do three different things. Once again, I was not excited about doing any of them but I knew that is what Jesus wanted for a belated Christmas present. Jesus wanted me to take out a different widow for coffee, get together and have lunch with a very difficult neighbor and reconcile an estranged friendship. Once again, it was a little uncomfortable at first to make the calls. But I stepped out and set up three different meetings. When I was paying for coffee, I prayed “Merry Christmas Jesus.” When I was getting together with a very challenging person, I thought "accept this gift Jesus" When I was getting ready to have an awkward conversation and reconcile a relationship. I thought, may You be honored and blessed by this Jesus. The cost of time and the sacrifice to save up my allowance made my gift have value. You can’t really offer anything to the Lord if it costs your nothing. It was satisfying knowing that these were the gifts Jesus wanted from me and I was obedient to give it.
I would encourage you to be bold and consider joining with me and asking Jesus what He wants you to give Him for Christmas. Who knows what He will ask from me this year? I am excited and a little nervous to see.
